Location

Located at 29 Tanglin Road, S247911, I've always thought this area to be slightly inconvenient. However, I'd gladly do this little trip for St Regis. After all, leaving the hotel is an option and not a necessity.

Our Stay

St Regis remains at the top of my list of brands that I would stay at. Mostly because I love the fact that St Regis maintains regal across their properties, and sometimes you just want modern luxury merged with old world charms. If luxury had a name and a heartbeat, it would be that of St Regis.

The St Regis brand for me is one of detail, everytime I have stayed in their hotel, they have been extremely attentive, knowing when we are celebrating a birthday, or an anniversary and then quietly ensuring that we are well taken care of at any of the establishments we visit during our stay.

The butler service is legendary at St Regis. Everyone knows about this service. Available 24 hours a day, your butler is always ready to help, offering tea and coffee service, linen pressing as well as helping us with our little requests along the way. Our butler also never fails to bring us little gifts to delight, which is always such a pleasant way to celebrate any thing you may be celebrating.

This time, we stayed at both the King Guest Room as well as the Caroline Astor Suite. At 52 sqm for their basic room, you'd not be needing more, but we did enjoy the separate living area and 90 sqm of space in the Caroline Astor Suite. Both rooms were ornately dressed in rich fabrics, marble and dark woods and tastefully done, like how a King or Queen would have loved it.

I particularly loved the King Guest Room, the huge soaking tub in the middle of the bath room was an absolute standout. Similarly, the the layout of the room seemed to be better, with lesser corridor spaces and a more comfortable flow of space in general.

Sometimes when we visit a place, we stay in hotels that are hundreds of years old. And whilst it is extremely charming, it would sometimes be quite a hassle with the lack of modern amenities. Which is why I absolutely love an old world charm hotel updated with modern amenities, like electric black out blinds which are a god send when you are ready to tuck in for the night but cant be bothered to move. Something I feel like should be a standard in all 5 Star hotels.

The stay was fantastic, the bedding was comfortable and we had an amazing break. The team at St Regis was happy to celebrate our birthday with us but also left us alone when we needed to just catch up on our much needed break.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served at Astor Grill, with some on the ala carte menu as well as a buffet spread. During our stay, we also had afternoon tea, popped by Astor Bar for a complimentary drink (We are Marriott Bonvoy Platinum) as well as had room service for dinner and breakfast the next morning, which turned out to be such an absolute treat.

Price

Rooms at St Regis Singapore don't run cheap. A King Guest Room one month out on a Sat costs 580 SGD/night whilst the Caroline Astor Suite would set you back 955 SGD/night. It can be pricely, but definitely worth the splurge for a special event. Remember to check Amex FHR and Hotelux for any offers they might run for hotel credits, free upgrades or longer stay discount.

Would we recommend?

Yes! St Regis is a brand where we always feel welcomed. The team works exceptionally hard to make sure you are pampered and heard. It remains our preferred choice to busk in the old world beauty.
