In Thai, "sam lor" (สามล้อ) translates to "three wheels" and typically refers to a three-wheeled vehicle, such as a trishaw or tuk-tuk. Right in front of the very unassuming restaurant, is a trishaw mounted on top of the door, which is very hard to miss.
Souffle Omelettes are a thing on social media when you check up BKK eats. And Sam Lor leads the pack with their envy inducing lava center. In fact, everytime a table had a souffle omelette served, everyone in the restaurant turned to watch the server slice the omelette into half. Yes, it was that satisfying. It was a rich, creamy, gooey goodness with a fluffy and crispy exterior.
Along with the omelette, we also had their beef and tom yum soup. In terms of flavour, it was OK. Nothing to shout out about but it was a hearty meal. I think in a city like Bangkok where every other shop sells really good quality food, it is very hard to stand out.

Booking
Definitely book! The venue is small and tables are limited. To prevent having to wait in the BKK heat, definitely secure your table before hand. Gone are the days of IG DMs and WAs. Now, Samlor can be booked via Tablecheck which makes it so much easier

Accessibility
Sam Lor is located about a 5 min walk from Si Phraya Boat Stop, which is incredibly convenient if you are coming from somewhere close to the river like Icon Siam. It is also a 3 min walk from Bangkok General Post Office, which makes it a very convenient location.
Alternatively, just take a Grab because it might be too hot to even walk 5 mins under the Bangkok sun (:
The Damage
142 SGD. Yes, you saw that right, for 2 pax, 3 dishes and 2 drinks. So Sam Lor's price is steep, especially for the items on their menu which are Market Price or a special.
Would We Recommend?
Yes for the Souffle Omelette. For other Thai food, there are likely better places that are a little cheaper.
