Nestled within The Robertson House sits Entrepôt, which serves Anglo-Asian food. Chef Nixon Low leads the charge here, blending Asian flavours with our Anglo history. The restaurant's interior is absolutely gorgeous, reflecting the colonial-inspired designs with black and white decor and elegant touches of colour.

I have to be very honest here, I dont know what Anglo-Asian food is. Although we were colonised by the British for many years here, it doesn't seem as though food was bastardised or really fused for some reason. Singapore remains a melting pot for cuisines around the regions and we embrace the variety of foods that have travelled through our little country. Ask any Singaporean and they would have their favourite Malay, Indian, Chinese and Western place that they go to. But not many would recommend a fusion restaurant. So it was interesting for us to have a go at Anglo-Asian food.

Our tea soup

We had:

  • Signature Chinese Terracotta Tea - Chinese Dried Mushroom Tea, Crustacean Tortellini, Lapsang Souchong

  • Charcoal Roasted Spanish Octopus Leg in Banana Leaf, Sambal Hitam, Fingerling Potato, Burnt Lime

  • Angelica Root French Corn-Fed Chicken Roast, Herbal Honey, Cordyceps Mushroom, Asian Napa Cabbage, Angelica Root Chicken Jus

  • Dry Aged 30 Days Angus Grass Fed Beef Striploin in Houba Leaf over Charcoal, Hasselback Potatoes, Botanica Chimichurri

  • Entrepôt Claypot Rice with Chorizo Sausage, Smoked Pancetta, Wild Mushrooms, Harissa

We were surprised! Anglo-Asian cuisine is very delightful. Or rather, Chef Nixon Low's interpretation at Entrepôt really hit the spot. We were treated to some asian sounding dishes like a tea soup and Chicken in Angelica Root or some Claypot Rice, but the taste! There is Asian comfort, but also western influences. Everyone on the table enjoyed all the dishes we had, in particular the tea soup as well as the Chicken Roast.

Booking

At the time of writing, there is still availability of tables a week out. So if you have flexibility in your schedule, it does not seem too difficult to find a slot. However, we still highly recommend making your bookings as soon as you have your itinerary confirmed to prevent disappointments.

Listen to the crackle of the claypot rice!

Accessibility

The Robertson House is just a 6 min walk from Fort Canning MRT and super convenient to get to. Consider taking a stroll along the river in the evening and people watch. Before you know it, you would already be at Clarke Quay MRT.

The Damage

The restaurant is ala carte and most of our mains sat between 25-80 SGD per dish. In total, we spent 220 SGD ++ for 4 pax. On top of that, since Entrepôt is located within The Robertson by The Crest Collection which is an Ascott property, you are entitled to any Ascott Loyalty Promotions and points. Entrepôt used to be under Amex Love Dining, which meant up to 50 % of dining, but that is no longer so from 01 May 2025.

Would we recommend?

Yes! Nice environment, hotel restaurant but the quality is definitely much better than many. It is disappointing to see if drop off Amex Love Dining, but regardless, for the prices, it remains at good value.
