Comfort, brand loyalty and experience are what we value the most in an unforgettable hotel stay. Our reviews are based on places we have personally visited, and focuses on the value each stay delivers.
The Hilton Kyoto is located in the Kawaramachi Sanjo district, which makes it a highly accessible area to key tourist locations as well as shopping. It is conveniently placed along Kawara-Machi street and walkable to the downtown Shijo area, Kamagawa River, Gion and Ponto Cho. We found it to be a fantastic base for exploring Kyoto. The building itself is gorgeous, once you walk in, you see these high panels of wood that reminds you of a calm modern meditation ground.
Dhawa Yura Kyoto offers a tranquil boutique hotel experience in the heart of Kyoto. Located in Higashiyama Ward, it is just a short walk from landmarks like Pontocho Alley, Gion district and Nishiki Market, providing an excellent base for exploring Kyoto, whilst staying out of the main tourist district.
Courtyard by Marriott Honmachi in Osaka stands in an extremely convenient location with the Sakaisuji Hommachi metro entrance right outside its doors. It offers easy access to most of the city's vibrant districts and never felt extremely crowded.
Would We Recommend? No. I wanted to like this hotel. They gave us fantastic upgrades, wonderful quality of bedding, amenities, facilities and food. However, the shaky service and the inability to properly address customer concerns leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, Ritz Carlton Perth is not a hotel we would return to. Ultimately, we would rather go to a hotel who welcomes us, rather than one that makes us feel like we were a burden to them.
One of the things we really needed to commend the team at Pan Pacific Perth, was the fact that they recognised service over procedure. We arrived at 1 am at the hotel, and when we were there, the front desk team prioritised an immediate room assignment so that we could get some rest and deferred administrative procedures to the next morning.
The Musheireb Boutique Hotel is nestled in the heart of the vibrant Souq Waqif district in Doha and is a true gem for travellers who have a short transit and would like to have an authentic Doha experience. The hotel is perfectly positioned and you have to just step outside and you are immediately surrounded by the bustling marketplace.
We had an exceptional stay at Mandarin Oriental, Doha. There are many top end hotels around Doha and I am sure they are also amazing, but MO always provides that little extra that I am looking for in a hotel stay. The feel of being at home and being taken care of.
Hilton Paris Opera is nestled in a historic building just steps from Gare Saint-Lazare and is within easy reach of iconic Parisian attractions. We chose the Hilton Paris Opera because it was within walking distance to the Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette and Saint-Augustin church. Having both sights within walking distance and accessibility through the trains made Hilton Paris Opera a fantastic choice for us.
InterContinental Le Grand Paris is a statement in Parisian history. It was commissioned by Baron Haussman and subsequently inaugurated by Empress Eugenie in 1862. To say this hotel dazzles is an understatement.
InterContinental Bordeaux fulfils the trifecta - fantastic location, great staff and comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our stay and it ended up being the perfect place for us before heading onwards to Paris after.
The Langham may be starting to show it's age and is not the most luxurious hotel you can stay at in Melbourne, but it offers exceptional value, especially when booked with Amex FHR or Mastercard Travels or Hotelux programs.
Le Meridien Melbourne is so conveniently located in the CBD. Most of your local eateries and bars can be accessed by foot but the tram running down Bourke Street is at your door step. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the team is helpful.
